Business Development Specialist

Two Bit Circus is seeking a business-minded individual; someone highly collaborative and motivated by getting things done alongside others, who is seeking a supportive role in Business Development. Our ideal candidate is someone who can knock out a fierce pitch deck, professionally and creatively represent Two Bit Circus to investors and potential business partners, understands financial models, is fluent in business acumen, and can provide general support to our Head of Business Development.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to accept the most effective role;
  • Create well-coordinated and compelling client project proposals, polished decks, presentations and meetings;
  • Support the Head of Business Development and the Sr. Marketing Manager in analyzing market trends and data to identify opportunities to enhance marketing and sales tools; Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications and announcements;
  • Develop, analyze and disseminate all standard sales and productivity reports and customized analytics as required to support all direct lines of business;
  • Understand and articulate Two Bit Circus’ vision and unique value proposition, but to also look for novel opportunities in order to advance our thinking;
  • Shape and qualify new leads from clients in collaboration with the leadership team; Align new business opportunities with the company’s long-term strategic goals;
  • Initiate communication with potential clients to determine valuable opportunities to collaborate on; Gather robust market intelligence on the opportunity, and finding the appropriate person or persons with whom to team up;
  • Locates business potential by contacting potential customers, discovering and exploring opportunities;
  • Keep track of the source of leads, progress, and outcome, and periodically provide a synthesis of learnings in order to improve our business development process;
  • Take part in the creation and facilitation of memorable and valuable events to support existing and attract new customers, client relationships and partnerships;
  • Support the Directors in the development and logistics surrounding business development outreach trips, presentations and events;

Job Requirements:

  • Superb skills making polished decks in Google Slides, Powerpoint, Keynote; requires high-level design skills and an eye for sharp presentations;
  • Excellent verbal, written and quantitative skills. You need to be able explain a complex concept simply while also flying your way through a spreadsheet;
  • At least 3 years of working experience, primarily in sales, strategy or marketing;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or marketing, or equivalent professional experience required;
  • Compelling interpersonal, networking, communication and presentation skills;
  • Experience working with creative people in a support or planning capacity;
  • Be self-directed toward excellent work outcomes, comfort level in ambiguous, non-rules based environments;
  • Great flexibility, and an openness to new ideas. Comfort level with having clients and partners unfamiliar and sometimes uncomfortable with our process and way of thinking;
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office and Google Docs;
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign;
  • An eye for design is a plus. A bad eye is a definite minus;
  • Digital and social media savvy;
  • Very comfortable using the Internet as a research tool, but able to spot fake news;
  • Ability to travel occasionally; Ability to work evenings and weekends if needed;
  • Be extremely detail-oriented, and have excellent follow through, devoted to seeing tasks complete
  • Be capable of working with a variety of personalities and work styles
  • Excellent discretion, demonstrating sound judgment in dealing with confidential dialogues and information
