Marketing Manager

Always wanted to run away and join the Circus? Here’s your chance!

We are a band of mad scientists, artists, inventors, storytellers and performers. We build big games, and tell stories with technology. We have three business lines: (1) our Lab is a partner to entertainment, technology and consumer brands that are looking to create something wild and fun, (2) our VR production studio is a one-stop shop for cinematic VR,custom haptics, and motion platforms, and (3) our Micro-Amusement Parks (the first slated to open in early 2018) are permanent facilities that showcase the future of fun… we’re talking the latest in multi-person virtual reality and mixed reality, crazy group games, molecular mixology and plenty of fire-wielding, laser-gun toting robots.

We are looking for a hands-on, passionate story-teller who loves immersive entertainment, the future, a little irreverence.   In this position, you will help define our brand, understand our audience and bring the company to life through live events and digital content campaigns. It’s time to excite our audience for the opening of the park! (While measuring the  effectiveness of our outreach)

Who are you? You are curious about people and love to create and test content and ways to connect to audiences. You jump into the fray and figure things out on the fly, because where we are going there is no map (there may also be dragons, but we love dragons!). You are passionate about games, technology, circus nostalgia and “start-up” life.

You should know a bit about our brand: it is inspired by the whimsy of the Circus.  While we love technology and the Circus (our engineers can be seen juggling and riding unicycles) this is not steampunk.  To us, the circus has always been a celebration of human potential and artistry.  We believe it celebrates the furthest edges of human capacity and today, that means technological invention and innovation.

Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the Senior Team (particularly the founders and business heads) to define the overall corporate brand and, more specifically, build and execute the brand and marketing strategy
  • Ensure all communications and materials are consistent in terms of style, voice/tone and style/quality
  • Understand target audience, competitive landscape and market trends for our upcoming micro-amusement park
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, web, email newsletters, video and events
  • Work with our PR team to craft strategy, amplify messaging and assist in the execution of that plan
  • Provide data-driven, highly analytical reports that regularly assess the effectiveness of specific campaigns and our marketing program overall
  • Work with corporate development to coordinate efforts and suggest partnerships

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, ideally in location based entertainment/hospitality
  • Outstanding written communication skills and an ability to translate ideas into simple and intuitive messages
  • A great eye for design
  • Tech-savvy and experienced with modern digital marketing tools, video, apps, web, and social
  • Experience with event-based marketing
  • Familiarity and passion for immersive entertainment and games
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Roll-up the sleeves, can-do attitude with the know-how to make the biggest “R” and any amount of “I”
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing and communication
  • Startup experience is necessary
